Gay couples will be able to get a marriage license in many Florida counties starting next Tuesday, Sarasota and Manatee among them. U.S. District Court Judge Robert Hinkle issued a clarification yesterday that his order last year striking own the state’s same sex marriage ban as unconstitutional applied to all 67 counties, not just Washington County, where the lawsuit challenging the state ban was filed. Since the clarification, several Florida county clerks offices have announced they will no longer perform courthouse weddings.
