Gay marriages can start next week in Orange County. A judge has cleared the way for those to begin Tuesday. However, same-sex marriages remain on hold for the rest of the state because of some legal wrangling. Meanwhile, Duval, Clay, and Baker counties have ended courthouse weddings to avoid performing gay marriage ceremonies. Duval County’s clerk tells the Florida Times Union that he and his staf feel uncomfortable about performing same-sex weddings.
