After declining during the Independence Day travel period, gas prices are once again headed back up.

The Triple A says the statewide average price for a gallon of gasoline jumped 11 cents to 3 dollars and 53 cents per gallon last week. The culprit for the spike in post holiday gas prices? Oil trading above 100 dollars over the last several weeks. Don’t look for prices to go down any time soon, Triple-A Spokeswoman Jessica Brady says the upward climb in prices is likely to continue for the next few weeks.
