A Port Charlotte daycare hopes for a normal day after evacuating yesterday.

Rainbows End Day Care on Loveland Boulevard had to clear out because of a gas leak.

WZVN-TV reports the 911 call came from a child care worker who smelled gas.

Emergency responders said an underground propane gas tank leaked between the daycare and the Salvation Army.

The Port Charlotte Adventist Church owns the daycare. The children remained in there until the situation improved.

The repairs to the tank shut down Loveland Boulevard from Midway to Rampart.
