The Cantilevers, a team from Charlotte Technical Center has advanced to the National Semifinal round of the West Point Bridge Design Competition. The top 40 teams in the nation are invited to compete in the semifinals. Almost 6000 teams from across the nation have submitted bridge designs in the preliminary round.

The two man team is comprised of Bo Samuels and Dan McLaughlin. They are students in the Engineering Tech. 1 program at Charlotte Technical Center. They are also enrolled in the Charlotte Aerospace Institute.

There is also a team from Lemon Bay High School listed on the scoreboard. Way to go Charlotte County!

The semifinal round will be held online on April 5. The top 6 teams in the semifinal round will reach the final round and earn a trip to West Point, NY, and laptop computers. 1st and 2nd place teams in the final will also earn $10,000 and $5,000 scholarships respectively.
