The primary landline phone provider in Sarasota and Manatee Counties is leaving the market. A trade publication reported on Wednesday that Frontier has hired an outside company to look into selling all of its Florida operations. Frontier Communications took over Verizon’s FiOS network of phone, cable, and internet and 2006, and was immediately met with thousands of customer complaints over outages and customer service. Earlier this year, Frontier accidentally disabled 911 services for two hours in Hillsborough, Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties.
