Leaders in Punta Gorda have expressed their deepest sympathy following last night’s shooting death of Mary Knowlton.
The mayor, the city manager, and the city council say they have complete faith in the police chief to ensure a thorough outside investigation.
They also say the city has made arrangements with Tidewell Hospice to provide free grief counseling to anyone who needs it.
