A celebration Friday focuses on Fountain Park in Venice.

The city’s public works department has repainted the base and the statue on the corner of Miami and Nokomis avenues. It has also made repairs to bring the fountain back to its original condition.

The First National Bank of Venice donated the fountain in 1986. In 1995, it sustained damage that required a cast iron fountain to replace it.

The statue depicts Hebe, the goddess of youth.

The celebration at the park begins Friday morning at 10 o’clock.
