A former treasurer of Sarasota County Youth Baseball’s free on bond after he arrest for felony grand theft.

Sarasota Police say 45-year old Janet Lynn Best is charged the alleged theft of $500 dollars from the group while working a cash register August 29th at the 12 Street Baseball Fields concession stand. The Herald-Tribune reports a volunteer noticed Best making sales, but not ringing anything into the register, instead making notes on paper. That volunteer shot cell phone video of what best was doing, and she was confronted by other staffers who told her to leave. She did, but not before giving her mother, the group’s secretary, $500 for the cash register. Mother and daughter resigned from the group the following day.
