A Jacksonville man is in jail, charged with capital sexual battery. The charges against 42-year old Michael Scott Carter stem from an alleged incident with a child under the age of 12, and are reported to have happened while Carter lived in Punta Gorda. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement began investigating Carter in late 2013 after receiving information about the incident. Carter was booked into the Duval County Jail and is being held without bond.
