Florida schools already know their assumed end-of-year grades, according to a proposed simulation based on a rule released by the state Department of Education commissioner, Pam Stewart.
According to a letter from Stewart, if the Florida DOE decides to adopt the rule, it “will be the basis for school recognition dollars”.
Grades are a simulation of baseline 2014-15 schools for informational purposes. Simulated grades are based on a proposed scoring method from last spring’s Florida Standard Assessment (FSA) scores.
The State Board of Education will decide whether to approve the method next month.
