An elections complaint that was lodged against a Sarasota County School Board candidate was deemed “legally insufficient” by the Florida Elections Commission.
The complaint claimed that Karen Rose violated elections law by receiving campaign contributions of more than $1,000.
The complaint was filed by Sarasota resident and ex-Lake Co. School Board Member Cynthia Barrow back in August. Rose ended up losing to incumbent Shirley Brown for the board’s District 4 seat.
