It’s deja vu all over again: the Florida Senate today narrowly passed a newly-redrawn congressional district map by a 22-18 vote, with all Democrats and a handful of Republicans in opposition. The map now goes to the Florida House of Representatives to approve or to make changes and volley it back to the Senate. It’s still anyone’s guess as to whether or not the state Supreme Court would approve the latest map; if not, the court could still end up drawing its own map. The current special session is scheduled to end next Friday.
