Tomorrow members of CCSO, Punta Gorda Police Department and Charlotte Correctional Institute will be running in Law Enforcement Torch Run for the benefit of Special Olympics. Participants will be meeting at the parking lot of the Publix at Airport Road and U.S. 41 in Punta Gorda at 8:15 a.m. to register. The Torch Run kicks off at 9 a.m., with the runners being escorted up the right-most lane of U.S. 41 north by marked patrol cars and motor units. The runners will make their way along the 10.5-mile route, detouring briefly to go past the Charlotte Harbor School for a quick water break. The runners are expected to take about two hours to reach their destination, the Publix at Cochran and US 41. This year’s Torch Run is \dedicated to Ethan Estrada.
