As recently as Friday, the Sarasota National Cemetery had only half the number of wreaths needed to place one at each grave site on December 14th, the day of Wreaths Across America. A burst of donations prompted in part by a television report brought in over 3-thousand wreaths, ensuring that each service member will be recognized. There are 6,750 grave sites at the National Cemetery. Wreaths Across America seeks to place a remembrance wreath on each military gravesite in our national cemeteries. Many of the wreaths are placed by children and teens.
