Charlotte County deputies are beefing up enforcement efforts on some area roadways that have produced the most accidents. A prime target: Veterans Boulevard in Port Charlotte, where 42 people were injured in 82 separate crashes last year. Another likely suspect: Placida Boulevard from Englewood to Placida: forty crashes, fourteen injuries. A total of four locations will now see enhanced traffic enforcement in order to cut down on the number of accidents.
