A new report shows that Charlotte County teens are less likely to use alcohol, tobacco and marijuana than they were 10 years ago, but substance use is still higher than the state average in many areas. Florida Department’s Children and Family’s biennial Youth Substance Abuse Survey, covering kids from grades 6 to 12, found the number of Charlotte County middle and high school students who have used alcohol, marijuana and tobacco at some point in their lifetime dropped over 20% in the past decade.
