The Charlotte County Sheriff’s officer has named a Buffalo native as the Member of the Month of September for the Bureau of Law Enforcement. Julius White reports.

Deputy Gerald Rose started with the Sheriff’s Office in October 2014 as a road patrol deputy. He is currently assigned to the District 2 area. During the month of September, Deputy Rose was involved in the case of a missing person who suffered from dementia. The professional and caring manner with which Deputy Rose handled that situation so impressed the missing man’s family that they wrote a letter to the local newspaper expressing their gratitude. Also during September, Deputy Rose had the highest level of activity on his squad, staying active throughout the entire shift.
