Tuesday’s the day Charlotte County Commissioners will decide whether or not they will pay up to $40,000 in legal fees for defending former County Commissioner Robert Skidmore in federal court against charges of gender discrimination and sexual harassment. The North Port Sun reports the county’s already paid $10,000 for his defense. David Potter, Skidmore’s attorney’s agreed to cut his rate from $325 to $225/hour. Skidmore’s trial isn’t expected to start until next spring. Skidmore also faces several ethics charges filed with the Florida Ethics Commssion.
