Boaters complaining of debris falling from an old railroad trestle spanning Gasparilla Sound are getting some help. Charlotte County commissioners say they’ll work with the West Coast Inland Navigation District on the removal of decaying sections of the trestle. Boaters particularly worried about an overhang section of the structure that hangs over the water and reportedly has its supporting piles rotted away. Also in line for removal: a one-hundred-foot-long section of trestle near the county’s Boca Grande fishing pier.
