The Florida Highway Patrol hasn’t identified the bicyclist who was hit and killed by a car Friday afterbnoon on North Lockwood Ridge Road and 53rd Street. They have only said the victim’s 45-years old, and are stll trying to contact the family. Authorities tell the Herald-Tribune the driver of the car involved, swerved into the bike lane and hit the cyclist. The driver’s identified as 89-year old Dennis Mulshaw. From 2011 to 2013, there have been almost 600 collisons between cars and bicycles in Sarasota County.
