Crist has taken advantage of the state’s public campaign financing program.
He adheres to a self-imposed spending cap of $25 million dollars.
Crist says he cannot raise as much as the governor, and he has taken the state money to keep the race competitive.
The first check for a million dollars goes to the campaign next month.
