The Englewood Community Development Area Advisory Board will hear updates on several upcoming events at its meeting later this week.
Preparations for the weekly West Dearborn Street Farmer’s Market, the Lemon Bay Garden Club’s Christmas Bazaar, the F.A.M.E. Music Festival, and a couple of new events – the Rotary Wine & Cheese Fest and the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall visit – will be discussed. Sarasota County Public Works and Planning manager Clark Davis will be on hand to talk about county impact fees. Impact fees are charges assessed against newly developed property to recover the cost incurred by a local government in providing the community with public facilities. Last summer, the city of Sarasota suspended some impact fees for 10 years to encourage new development in the city.
It happens at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at the CRA’s new office, 1398 Old Englewood Road.
