About 300 people were without phone service this weekend, after theives stole copper wiring from CenturyLink telephone boxes. Charlotte county deputies say utility boxes directly behind 2030 Lucky Street and the adjacent lot were broken into on Saturday and copper wire was stolen, affecting customers within a mile-square area. This is the fifth copper theft from phone equipment boxes in Charlotte County in about a week. Anyone with information about this copper theft, is asked to call the CCSO at 639-2101, or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
