Now that an ethics board has cleared Charlotte County Commissioners Tricia Duffy and Chris Constance of allegations made by two individuals, those people are criticizing the state’s review process. The Englewood Sun reports Robert Herriman and David Kesselring are upset with the commissioners’ vote on the Parkside project, saying the commissioners stood to benefit personally and should not have voted. While the ethics commission found no special gain would occur to either commissioner, there was not an investigation of the matter done, and the commission’s own letter says its conclusions do not reflect on the accuracy of the allegations of the complaint.
