Those of you who take your doggie to eat with you may have to alter your behavior. The City of Venice is considering changes to an ordinance that is set to expire in June and the council will examine the current policy and what changes may be better for residents and the city. Venice has numerous restaurants that residents can take a dog, as long as a permit is purchased. Venice’s mayor has said that some of the rules are being broken by patrons such as allowing dogs to sit on a person’s lap or being fed restaurant food. The restaurant, and not the patron are ultimately responsible for the rules being followed.
