More neighborhoods in Sarasota County will be able to keep chickens now that commissioners approved updated rules.
According to the Herald the guidelines are in line with what other areas allow – four hens maximum, no roosters and the birds can only be kept on single-family properties.
Home owner associations and other community organizations are allowed to implement their own rules on keeping chickens.
