The YMCA of Charlotte County picked up several several generous donations this holiday season after two burglars stole camp equipment over the summer. NBC2 reports the thieves cut a steel cable and a padlock on a boat rack that sits along Charlotte Harbor, taking several kayaks and canoes. The donations will make sure summer camp starts on the right foot. The robbery cost them YMCA 6-kayas and one canoe. They now have a total of 31-kayaks and canoes. Thousands of dollars worth of gear’s already being shared with North Port’s YMCA before the Charlotte County YMCA puts them to use this summer. A $6,000 cash donation to the YMCA’s being put to good use, providing a secure place for the new kayaks and canoes.
