Deputies will be looking for speeders the entire length of Lakeview Boulevard in Port Charlotte, and all of the Jones Loop Road in Punta Gorda. They’ll be watching compliance with traffic signals at the intersections of I-75 and Jones Loop Road in Punta Gorda, and at SR 776, McCall Road and Coliseum Boulevard in Englewood. According to the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles, Charlotte County’s had 8 vehicle deaths so far this year; up from 3 this time a year ago.
