The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office took in over 130 pounds of unwanted prescription medications during the DEA sponsored Drug Take Back Program Saturday. The program gives people a safe way to dispose of unwanted, out-of-date, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances to law enforcement for destruction. Fox4 reports at the end of the day, all the medications were taken to the Sheriff’s Office Evidence Unit where they will be destroyed.
