A 20-year veteran of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s office has been killed in the line of duty. Corporal Michael Wilson, was shot and killed as he was responding to a domestic disturbance at the Lakes of Tuscana Apartments on Veterans Blvd. in Port Charlotte. The man believed to have shot Corporal Wilson, whose name has not been released, was found inside the apartment hours later, dead. Sheriff Bill Prummell (pruh-MELL) will release more at a late-morning news conference.
