A Charlotte County couple is accused of trying to steal dozens of hurricane shutters from a charity that builds homes for the less fortunate. NBC2 reports a passerby saw 18-year-old Wesley Mcelroy and his girlfriend, 20-year-old Leeann Davis breaking into Port Charlotte’s Habitat for Humanity. Investigators say
the couple face Grand Theft charges. They’re in the Charlotte County Jail without bond.
