The governor has appointed Charlotte County’s sheriff to the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.
The appointment for Bill Prummell runs four years.
The sheriff’s office says this commission ensures the state has ethical, qualified, and well-trained criminal justice officers.
The commission’s members establish standards for employment and training for all law enforcement and corrections officers. This includes the programs, curricula requirements, and certification of training schools.
