Last month’s foreclosure filings in Southwest Florida continued to be about half the number from the same period a year ago. New foreclosure filings for Sarasota and Charlotte counties totaled 276 during November just over half the the 525 reported in November 2012. The sharpest decline came in Charlotte County, where the Clerk of Courts reported 66 new foreclosure filings in November, about one-third as many as last November. In Sarasota County, there were 210 new foreclosure filings reported last month, a little under 2/3 the number filed a year ago.
