The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Leslie Williams, DOB 8/17/67, in connection with the death of her husband in the driveway of their home on Oakford Road in Sarasota on March 17, 2013.

Just after midnight, the couple’s son called 9-1-1 requesting an ambulance for his father who was lying in the driveway and not breathing. Deputies also responded and found 48-year-old Christopher Williams deceased.

According to witnesses, Leslie and Christopher were arguing inside the home and then moved outside. During the confrontation Leslie got into her 2006 GMC Yukon Denali and Christopher walked toward the gate at the end of the driveway. Investigators learned that Leslie put the Yukon in drive and struck the victim with the front of the vehicle and knocked him into the gate. Leslie continued driving, running over Christopher as she fled the scene. Deputies found Leslie and the vehicle at her mother’s home shortly after the crime.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Leslie Williams and she turned herself in this morning. She is charged with Vehicular Homicide and Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Death. Williams was booked into the Sarasota County Jail where she is currently being held without bond.
