North Port Police say they’ve identified a suspect in the March 29th shooting of a dog in the 3000 block of Parkins Terrace. A misdemeanor cruelty to animals charge has been filed with the State’s Attorney’s office. An 8-month old dog was wounded, with a BB or pellet gun, when it escaped from a fenced in yard. The Herald-Tribune reports it will be prosecutors who’ll decide if the charge is pursued. The suspect hasn’t been identified yet because they’re not yet in police custody.
