Transit service in Sarasota County may have a massive restructuring of its services thanks to a new plan.
SCAT officials have shown county commissioners their idea to cut four bus routes by next year.
They have also suggested changing the alignment and service schedules for a dozen other routes over the next few months.
Additionally, transit officials have discussed with commissioners a plan to increase regular fares on the system by the end of the year.
They have agreed on a plan that would allow students from local colleges to ride buses for free with college ID cards.
Several of the proposed changes come up in public hearings through September.
