More reports of car break-ins have popped up in Charlotte County.

The sheriff’s office has issued a new warning for people to lock their vehicles.

Skip Conroy in the office says the incidents look like “crimes of opportunity.” The suspects just check to see whether or not people have locked their cars.

Thieves appear to target cars with something valuable like money or electronics.

While this has happened across the county over the last several months, WBBH-TV reports a recent increase in Englewood.
