CCSO has a reminder for contractors and workers to make sure they secure their construction equipment and materials at job sites. Between June of last year and this month, the Sheriff’s Office has taken 14 reports of thefts or burglaries at construction sites in the Englewood area. Many come from the general area of South Gulf Cove, while a couple are from the Rotonda area. What’s being taken runs from copper wire, doors, bags of cement, building studs, and equipment, including scaffolding, chain saws and a drill.
In most cases, the items taken had been left unsecured at building sites.
