Deputies will be doing speed enforcement along the entire length of Deep Creek Boulevard, in Port Charlotte and Puntya Gorda; as well as the entire length of Chamberlain Boulevard in Port Charlotte. Traffic light enforcement will be done this week at the intersections of Veterans and Cochran Boulevards in Port Charlotte; and at El Joebean Road and Murdock Circle in Port Charlotte. According to the State Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles, Charlotte County’s had 9 vehicle deaths so far this year; there were 5 at this same time last year.
