Deputies will be looking for speeders along US 17 between Bermont Road and the County Line in Punta Gorda; and on Quesada Avenue between Cochran Blvd. and Harbor Blvd. in Port Charlotte. Traffic light enforcement’s going to be done at the intersections of US 41 and Harborview Road in Port Charlotte, and US 41 and Tuckers Grade in Punta Gorda. The State Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles, reports Charlotte County’s had 18 vehicle deaths so far this year; there were 11 at this time last year.
