Charlotte County Sheriff deputies report their latest crackdown on shoplifting resulted in the arrest of six people last week. Three juveniles and three adults were arrested during the six-hour effort at the Wal-Mart on Taylor Road in Punta Gorda. Each was charged with retail theft. The adults are identified as 22-year old Tyler Jay Brugman, 23-year old Brittany Nicole Benson, and 64-year old Heather Christine Vernacatola. All are from Punta Gorda and all were released after posting $500 bond.
