CCSO Narcotics Unit deputies raided a suspected Port Charlotte drug house this morning. Inside the home deputies found meth and synthetic marijuana. NBC2 reports the Sheriff’s Department’s cracking down on drugs and drug dealers to put the brakes on other crimes. Sheriff Bill Prummell beefed up the narcotics unit when he took over the department last year, and drug arrests were up 38% in 2013 over 2012, and at the same time the county crime rate dropped 2.7%. No one was home so the search for the drug dealer continues.
