The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office reports that K9 units have been at two schools in the county and have made two drug arrests so far. A CCSO spokesperson says the K9 unit will be used at other schools in the county but they’re not going to say where or when. This is part of “Operation Dry Spring” the department’s involved in with the Florida Sheriffs Task Force. The operation includes beefed up CCSO patrols on our main beach areas from Englewood to Boca Grande and in the Charlotte Harbor area. Additional patrols are also checking places where youth hang out in Charlotte County.”
