The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office reminds people not to fall for unlicensed contractors.
This follows the tornadoes from a couple weeks ago.
The twisters damaged Punta Gorda’s Deep Creek and the area near Route 41 and Murdock Circle.
The sheriff’s office advises people not to hire anyone for cleanup without first verifying that these contractors and businesses have the proper licenses, insurances, and bonds.
