It started 8-months when a very sick dog was found in a dumpster in front of a home off Oil Well Road in Punta Gorda. NBC2 reports that led deputies to a lot where 80-more animals, from horses and ‘gators to dogs, were being kept in horrific conditions. Charlotte County Animal Control found nails in hooves, gators drinking filthy water from buckets they sat in, and animals eating fermented restaurant waste. They also say they found a marijuana grow house. 50-yeear old Pablo Cauz was arrested for drug possession. Now he’s has been arrested on 29-animal abuse charges. The sheriff’s office says they’re also looking into whether or not cockfight’s were held on the property.
