CCSO Economic Crimes detectives are trying to identify the man who allegedly tried to cash a forged business check at a Punta Gorda branch of Charlotte State Bank May 22nd. The teller declined to cash the $3500 check after calling the business, who confirmed they hadn’t issued it, and the suspects use of out of state ID. The suspect who left when told the check wouldn’t be cashed, is a black male with short black hair and a goatee. He was wearing glasses a dark T-shirt when he was at the bank.
