The Civilian Gun Safety Class originally scheduled for this Saturday May 18 by CCSO, has been canceled. Another class will be held in June, but the exact date has not yet been determined. To register for the June course, please call Sgt. Greg Kalosis at (941) 575-5367. You will have to pre-register to attend. The cost is $35, payable by check or money order to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. The class runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the CCSO training building at 25500 Airport Road in Punta Gorda. You’ll need to bring your firearm along with 50 rounds of ammunition (no reloads). Completion of the course can meet one of the requirements for a concealed weapons permit.
