(PORT CHARLOTTE) Charlotte County Sheriff’s deputies arrested four teenagers and charged them all with Criminal Mischief following $2,500 in damages to a car in the Town Center Mall parking lot Sunday afternoon in Port Charlotte.

The owner of a Scion XB exited the mall around 2 p.m. and noticed a woman by his car who asked him if the car was his. She witnessed four young males walking around the car and then one of them sprayed an unknown substance into his cars custom exhaust pipe. The witness said the four drove off in a Black Honda Accord with a grenade sticker on the rear window. Deputies arrived and reported yellow insulated foam was sprayed into the exhaust pipe.

At 2:50 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 1282 Market Circle near the mall in reference to the suspect vehicle with South Carolina license. A witness said the car was parked behind a closed business and he saw four males walking around the side of the business. The four teens fled in the car prior to deputy’s arrival. Moments later a deputy observed the suspect vehicle and made a traffic stop in the Sam’s Club parking lot.

Both witnesses positively identified the car and the four subjects. All four were arrested and transported to the Charlotte County Jail and charged with felony Criminal Mischief.
