Another week, another list of areas where Charlotte County deputies will be watching more closely for misbehaving drivers. From today through Sunday, increased speed limit enforcement will be in effect on Placida Road between Rotonda Boulevard West and McCall Road, and along the entire length of Melbourne Street in Port Charlotte. Traffic light enforcement will be beefed up at the intersections of U.S. 41 and Midway Boulevard, and at Veterans Boulevard and Atwater Street, both in Port Charlotte. State law enforcement says that Charlotte County has had 22 vehicle deaths so far this year, up from 17 at this time last year.
